I had a great experience writing for Silicon Prairie News. I loved that it’s online-driven, I loved that there was always something new to try. Most importantly, I loved getting to cover the Des Moines startup community, an extremely dedicated group of people who truly want to change the world for the better.
You can find a feed of all my posts here. Or, check out a couple I’m especially proud of:
- Entrepreneurs in Residence: Molding a new type of university innovator. This was a longer-term story that touched on all three of SPN’s main coverage cities: Omaha, Des Moines, and Kansas City.
- Sometimes, I got to do fun success stories when startups hit milestones. Sometimes I got to take photos. This story had both: Goodsmiths’ party celebrates $1 million mark, hints at what’s next.
- A typical story, if there ever is such a thing, at Silicon Prairie News was designed to introduce a new startup idea and the people behind it. A couple examples I did: ScoutPro, InvenQuery, and CoParent.me.
